Visiting a Titan World Store: How to Prepare and What to Check

A visit to a Titan World store is usually quick, but a little preparation means you find the right watch on the first trip and leave without having to come back.

Before you leave home

  • Check the timings. Store pages in our directory show weekly hours where we have them. Some stores close earlier on Sunday, and timings change around festivals.
  • Find the landmark. Many Indian addresses are easiest to find through a nearby landmark, which we list on each store page. If the store is inside a mall, allow time for parking and finding the right floor.
  • Call ahead for specific models. If you want one particular watch, give the model number over the phone and ask whether it is in stock. It can save a wasted journey.
  • Wear what you normally wear. If the watch is for office use, try it on with a shirt cuff; if it is for the gym, with a sports top.

What to tell the staff

Store staff can narrow down the choice quickly if you give them four pieces of information:

  1. Who the watch is for and the occasion.
  2. Your budget, including how flexible it is.
  3. Preferences you are sure of: dial colour, strap type, analog or smart.
  4. Anything you dislike: a large case, a heavy bracelet, a busy dial.

Show them photos of watches you like on your phone; it is often quicker than describing them.

Trying watches on

Look at the watch on your wrist in a mirror from a normal distance, not only up close. Check that you can read the time at a glance and that the case does not overhang your wrist. Move your arm around: a good watch stays comfortable when you bend your wrist.

Final checks before paying

  • Is the seconds hand moving, and is the time set correctly?
  • Does the date change in the right window, and is it set to today?
  • If there is a chronograph, do the pushers start, stop and reset the hands to zero?
  • Is the crown pushed or screwed fully in?
  • Does the clasp close firmly and open without excessive force?
  • Are there any marks on the case or glass? Display pieces are sometimes handled a lot.

At the counter

Check that the model number on the bill matches the watch, that your name and phone number are spelled correctly, and that the box, booklet and any removed links are packed. If you paid with a card offer, check the discount appears on the receipt and not only on the payment slip.

In the first week

Keep all packaging until you are sure about the watch. Leave the protective film on the caseback if you want to keep it unmarked, but take it off the glass for clear reading. If anything feels wrong, return to the store early; issues raised in the first days are the easiest to sort out.
