Titan Watch Collections Explained: Edge, Raga, Octane, Nebula and Stellar
Walk into a Titan World store and you will see names on the display cases that are not the brand itself: Edge, Raga, Octane, Nebula, Stellar. Each is a collection with its own personality. Prices quoted below are those announced by Titan Company at launch; current prices can differ, so check the tag or titan.co.in.
Edge: the slim specialists
Edge was launched in 2002 and is built around one idea: thinness. According to Titan Company, Edge cases range from about 3.5 mm to 4.5 mm thick, and the movement used in some models is just 1.15 mm. A recent addition, Edge Squircle, measures 4.45 mm and was announced from ₹39,995, while Edge Ceramic models were listed between ₹19,995 and ₹29,995. Edge watches are rated water resistant to 30 metres, which means they are made for the office and dinner, not for swimming.
Choose it if you want a dress watch that slides under a shirt cuff.
Raga: designed for women
Raga is Titan’s women’s line, known for bracelet-style straps, decorative dials and designs that sit somewhere between a watch and a piece of jewellery. It is a popular choice for weddings, festivals and gifts. Because many Raga pieces have delicate bracelets, check the fit carefully in the store: some are adjusted by removing links, others come in fixed sizes.
Choose it if the watch is meant to be worn as an accessory as much as a timepiece.
Octane: built around functions
Octane is a men’s range inspired by speed. Titan Company highlights chronographs that measure to one tenth of a second, a tachymeter scale for estimating speed, luminous hands and multi-layered dials. It was launched from ₹7,495. The busy dials look sporty but take a little practice to read.
Choose it if you like a large, technical-looking watch with plenty going on.
Nebula: solid gold
Nebula is described by Titan Company as India’s first solid gold watch brand. The watches are made in 18 karat gold, and some designs are set with stones such as topaz, tourmaline and peridot. Titan lists Nebula prices as starting at ₹45,000, and jewelled variants run into lakhs. Nebula is sold at Titan stores, on titan.co.in, at Helios and at selected authorised dealers.
Choose it if you are looking for an heirloom gift for a wedding or a milestone anniversary.
Stellar: the space-inspired collection
Stellar was created for Titan’s 40th anniversary and follows the life of a star, from protostar to supernova to black hole. The range has 11 watches, three of them limited editions with dials made from aventurine, malachite and Muonionalusta meteorite. Some models use Titan’s own automatic movements; the 7AC0 calibre, for example, has 22 jewels and a 38-hour power reserve.
Choose it if you want something with a story behind it and an unusual dial.
